Since June 2019, we’ve been researching the best baby cribs we could find and we narrowed down our list from 34 to just these ten cribs. We have a long list of items we needed to check to ensure we recommend to parents the safest baby cribs we could find in the market.
After several hours of in-depth analysis and review, we reached out to 12 parents who have used several baby cribs to get their ideas on what they think is best in a baby crib.
Below are the factors we considered as we ranked the best baby cribs of 2019:
- The material the cribs are made of: We only considered cribs that are made of toxic-free materials and finish. We did not consider any wood that may have volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with toxic gases.
- Certification and safety standards: Only those cribs that have been approved as safe by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) were considered.
- Small slat distance: Only cribs with less than 6 centimeters slat distance were considered. Bigger slat distance presents injury risk as the baby’s foot can get stuck in it.
We used those ideas and came up with the list of baby cribs below.
