Kasa Cams are a series of four camera brands manufactured by TP-Link Technologies Co., Ltd, a Chinese manufacturer of networking products and is based in Shenzhen, China. In America, the brand is known for its security and home cameras and has been in operation since 1996. Here is a link to their Wikipedia page.
Kasa Cam as the baby monitor is now becoming more common in 2019 and it is bringing challenges to some traditional baby monitors and security cameras such as Nest.
I really like the Kasa Cam because of its great app and the newly redesigned TP-Link cameras are just among the best. Kasa Cam 200 which was released in 2019 won the Design Awards this year. One disadvantage of Kasa Cam cameras is that it does not have a battery back-up. It relies on the AC plug and if there is a black-out, your Kasa Cam will not take images/videos.
The wired Kasa Cameras have very long cords or wires that we highly encourage you to ensure that your cords are secured and do not put your baby at risk of strangulations.
Let’s start with how you can set up your Kasa Cam by TP-Link:
