Similac Strong Moms app

If you are a Similac Strong mom, then you can download the Similac Strong mom app on your iPad or iPhone. The app is basically a baby journal with amazing features that help you to keep track records of your baby essentials activities. This app will help you keep track of every activity your baby does in a presentable easy- to- retrieve manner, like when you go for clinics, and better still, there is no chance of losing the records like if you jotted down on some random place. The entries are also faster to do than jotting down. You start by setting up your baby’s profile and then making entries about the activities. Below is a highlight of all the features you get from Similac Strong mom app:

  • Breast Feeding Journal

This feature gives you a simple way to keep track of which breast you began with during a feeding session and how long the baby fed.

  • Bottle Feeding Journal

This feature is applicable for formula feeds or bottle feeding from stored breast milk. It tracks when the baby was given the bottle, how long it took, and how many ounces they fed.

  • Diaper Changes

This feature has three options: Wet (1), Wet & Bowel Movement (1/2), or just a bowel movement (2). You indicate either of these options with every diaper change. Also, the BM has more options to indicate the color and consistency. This has got to be one of the most useful features; you can use it to catch tummy problems or other illnesses or simply for clinic purposes when you visit the pediatrician.

  • Sleep Patterns

The feature helps you track all the sleep durations, including naps. You note what time of day or night the baby went down and when they woke. It is a great feature for parents trying to keep a sleep schedule.

The other impressive features in this app include a section you can add more notes, Similac’s telephone number for feeding assistance at the foot most pages. Additionally, the app is incorporated with links to the Similac Strong Moms community and FAQ.

When does a baby stop drinking formula?

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends waiting until your baby is 12 months to stop feeding them with formula. Their advice is that a baby should be fed exclusively on breast milk or formula for the first 6 months. They warn that introducing solid foods to a baby less than 4 months increases the risk of developing infancy and early childhood obesity. In a document published by healthy children.org, the AAP recommends that you start introducing solid foods like iron-fortified infant cereal such as rice cereal or oats, and pureed vegetables, fruits and meats. While adding these new foods, you ought to give one type at a time to see if it seats well with the baby. This way, it is easy to notice if your baby has an allergic reaction to a specific food. You will also easily tell which foods the baby likes and which foods they don’t like. By the time your baby is 12 months old, they will be eating a variety of solid foods that are nutritionally balanced, and then, they can safely transition from a formula.
